10 things about Nelson Mandela.

1. He served as a counselor to tribal chiefs for several years.
2. Nelson Mandela won the Nobel prize in 1993.
3. Nelson was the first African  president  who was elected in a complete democratic  election.
4. Nelson spent 27 years in prison.
5. He was the the first black person to be president in south Africa.
6. He is known as one of the best leaders in the world.
7. He was born in Mvezo on july 18/ 1918.
8. During 2004 Nelson Mandela announced his retirement for public life
9. Left jail in 1990.
10. lived till December 5, 2013. Age 95.

  1. Tyler - these facts look like they may have been copied and pasted from somewhere else. Were they? If not, I apologize and if so, please try to rephrase in your own words and cite your source - perhaps hyperlink the source. Either way you have chosen some very important aspects of Mandela's life that we should be proud of. However, You have not completed the post by answering the question: Why is the world celebrating the life of Mandela?
